Fight or flight is an exhausting state of being for anyone, especially writers. “Let’s do what we do” makes way more sense. And a huge part of me believes that when you lean into that philosophy, that’s when doors start opening again. They’re just different doors.
What I didn’t mention in this particular post is that a publisher could’ve handed me a six-figure book deal on a silver platter, but my nervous system was so shot I wouldn’t have been able to deliver a finished product.
It’s why I wasn’t able to capitalize on or sustain the momentum after ALL OF YOU.
Indeed, the bomb changes…each time we have to adjust and find our way. DD is a lesson in resilience.
